Major ticket regarding Wi-Fi performance of ar71xx/ath9k routers, has just been marked fixed and closed.
I'm not sure when or if this will be added to AA and thus Gargoyle, since I don't understand dev/patch system of OpenWRT.

Recently I upgraded from 1.5.8 to 1.5.10

Hardware: WNDR3700v2

After this update if I utilize over 500 connections my internet slows to a crawl.

This is not only with torrenting, but also when testing different connections within a home lab.

All settings were the same on 1.5.8 and 1.5.10
To confirm the issue did not occur in 1.5.8 I reverted back and had no issue.

Using OpenWRT Barrier Breaker 37520 on WZR-HP-G300NH V1

Wireless Bridged (WAN) - wired LAN clients

Image

Fast and stable connection - no wireless dropouts - no slowdown

This has been running for about 1 week - rock solid

Are you saying the recently closed ticket improves this scenario? Will this make it into AA or just BB?

Hiya!

I might have found a bug or at least something isn't working correct with the TOR option... !?

They have switched to the domain .to so you need to add .to to be able to connect. More info: http://onion.to/

I get this error "onion.to - A connection to am4wuhz3zifexz5u.onion could not be established. Host unreachable."

I tried the http://am4wuhz3zifexz5u.onion.to/Library/ link from the onion.to site.

Since I use the TL-WDR4300 (have two) with the TOR function enabled as hidden services I have noticed that many sites doesn't work.. tor mail for example. Silk road works and some other... but its very random...

I have not tried connecting TOR the "normal" way yet.. anyone else having TOR problems or is it just me?! Please tell me its not just me...

Why you think it ?
Is TPLINK facing problems ?

smyr: There may be an issue with Tor in the latest builds from source as buddee points out above as some things have changed (I need to doublecheck this bug report)... but the issue you describe is NOT with Gargoyle.

You mention TorMail... it's dead as of a couple days ago. There was a massive attack by the U.S Government/NSA on a bunch of Tor sites including TorMail. You can't connect because the site is gone. Further, there was javascript malware inserted into a bunch of Tor hidden services by the U.S. Government to de-anonymize users of hidden services. See here: https://blog.torproject.org/blog/hidden ... om-hosting and here: http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2013/0 ... m-hosting/

Further note: If you encountered this exploit while using Gargoyle you were probably protected as it only affected one specific version of Firefox (version 17), one that was distributed with the Tor Browser Bundle in the past. Accessing the site by enabling Tor access in Gargoyle meant you were using whatever browser you typically use, and not the vulnerable version specifically targeted by this exploit.

Still, The fact the U.S. Government was deliberately injecting malware into Tor hidden services is seriously disturbing, if you ask me.

Onion.to is not a new way of accessing Tor sites -- it's using another website as a proxy. It allows you to access hidden sites, but provides you little anonymity as the operator of onion.to can see who you are and what you are accessing. It's been around for a while.

continues to be a problem with the wifi network failure. Wifi network disappears eg 1,2,3,4, .... 20 days. Something can be done with this problem? I have a lot of such devices and there are problems. TPLINK 740nd v2.0 v2.4 740N v4.00 v4.23 v4.24 v4.26.

The methods described are not working.
