Reconfigured the router configuration from scratch but after power cycle or soft reboot still lost all the configurations and back to factory default.
What about when you configure the bare minimum settings.

e.g. could be something like QOS rule causing the problem?
everything is factory default and not even holding password change. Back to factory after power cycle.

Can I use this version for routers with 4 megabytes of memory?
Or pay attention to version 1.8.X?

I would say that all future versions are essentially incompatible due to unknown performance and stability characteristics.
Your mileage may vary.

It won't get any better

I see that OpenWrt's latest revision was on 17-Feb-2017
/snapshots/trunk/ar71xx/generic
The page contains the firmware for TL-WR1043ND-V4 that Gargoyle's latest, 10-Feb-2017, does not contain.

When is the next scheduled Gargoyle release?
I am so looking forward to sharing out my limited data allocation equally to all my family.

Gargoyle is based on the lasted stable Openwrt version. (Not Trunk)

Who knows when OpenWRT will release the next stable version

Hi, I am curious about one (major) thing; like everyone knows, we purchase our routers and upgrade to newer generations mainly because of their wireless speed capability; how come that these new versions ALWAYS fade away in terms of wireless link speed compared to older versions line 1.5.8 and 1.6.2 ? After a short period of testing, I'm always reverting back to these old versions because of speed limitation over the 2,4 GHZ band

So at least for me, all these new versions with all the extra functions added are simply useless if they cannot deliver the most important thing - wireless SPEED

WDR3600 + WDR4300

Why are you complaining about speeds on a congested band?

Move forward with the upgrades, otherwise, why upgrade at all?

If speed is your thing stick with stock firmware.

1.9.x series is the most stable Gargoyle ever for routers with more than 4MB flash.
