This seems to me to run out of space in FLASH memory and you will already have to perform "Use Disk As External Root (Extroot)" :( .

:!: Please note that USB storage will become part of Gargoyle at that time.

Aye carumba.
Don't try to install pieces of functionality and pretend Gargoyle knows what to do with them.

Install the proper Gargoyle USB Support with Sharing like I told you. That comes with samba, vsftpd and NFS/cifs, and the very important glue which holds it all together, share_user.
Then all your users and passwords will generate correctly.

I would also go against Romans suggestion to add OpenWrt packages, unless you absolutely need it.
Gargoyle customises several packages. If you install the non customised version from OpenWrt, you will get bad results.
Only add them if you can't find something, but don't add them for no reason.

In most cases Gargoyle specific versions are named differently, but not always

I don't know if we all understand each other here. I've never said that users should install OpenWrt packages when they don't really need them (like ftpd, samba, minidlna, miniupnpd). If someone wants to test version 1.13.x, this should be done with the supplied Gargoyle packages - not from the OpenWrt repository.
By my recommendation, I allowed them to install Gargoyle packages like "plugin-gargoyle-*.ipk" and with the second command I allowed the use of additional libraries such as "libstdcpp".

Yes but if they follow your instruction to add the distfeeds, then when gpkg tries to resolve available packages it will find
- Gargoyle provides vsftpd 1.2
- OpenWrt provides vsftpd 1.3
Therefore it will install the newer one.
BUT, gargoyles is what we need and is customised.

This is pretty important.

I installed 1.13.0.x today on my C5v1, C7v2 and WDR4300 today. I reconfigured all three access points for fast roaming and that's basically everything I changed besides ip addresses.

So far, everything works just like it should. Thanks!
