As long as you have a device from an appropriate region and don't have any radar interference.
However it may not work for long, as the DFS detection on those devices is awful.

Please understand the difference between ar71xx and ath79 before flashing, and do not preserve settings.
https://openwrt.org/docs/techref/targets/ath79 says:
ath79 is the successor of ar71xx. It's modernization under the hood, with the main goal to bring the code into a form that is acceptable for Linux upstream, so that all (most) of the whole ar71xx supported devices can be handled by an upstream, unpatched Linux kernel.)
Combined with "Step 1: check support for your device" of https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/ins ... x.to.ath79

Are these enough to understand the difference in context of Gargoyle or is there more I should read?

I have a TP-Link Archer-C7 AC1750, Hardware Version: Archer C7 v3 00000000.

Archer C7 v3 is the same as Archer C7 v2, so you should use these files:

:!: Check the EU or US version of the label on the bottom of the router - if this information is not there, use the universal version.

Thank you Roman! This one seems to work, though I'll need to wait a few weeks for true confidence.

The main thing I want people to recognise is that the architecture is wildly different, and that preserving settings between ar71xx and ath79 is never going to be a good idea. :)
