Script to test for slow throughput

Post by softstorm »

My WRT32X router with 1.12 uses either wired or PPPoE connections to my NBN HFC modem. Every 5 days or so I find that the WAN download speed has dropped by 5-10%. If I reboot or reestablish the WAN connection it goes back to full speed. This might be due to my QoS settings, the NBN network provider or something else.

I schedule a reboot every week to workaround this, but I also monitor the WAN performance with this batch file running on a Windows PC. Hope you find this useful in alerting you to unexpected WAN slowness. Easy to change it to accept the expected throughput as a command line parameter %1.

If you click:

QoS (Download) >> Reset Fair Limit.

Fix the issue?
