Extroot issie, 1.11.X (Built 20190405-0155 git@4685bd7f)

Post by ysy »

Hi All,

Glad to see yet another update to Gargoyle firmware. I flashed 1.11.x (build 190405), replacing the OEM firmware. Everything seems to work pretty smoothly (Channel 13, QoS, Wifi Schedule, Adblock) until I tried plugin a 4GB USB stick and formatting it with extroot option. The UI did ask for password confirmation but nothing happened next. Tried formatting the stick from EXT4 to FAT on a PC, still withou luck. Any thoughts?

Cheers

You should get a final confirmation which is possibly being blocked by your browser.
Check your browsers console or developer mode to see if this is what is happening.

I will eventually remove the double confirmation because it’s unnecessary.

Hi Lantis,

You are right. Chrome seems to be less compatible with Gargoyle UI: both in terms of dropping the second popup, and in terms of UI fluency. Finally got a reason to keep it.

Cheers.

While the current extroot page allows us to split the USB storage device into two parts (swap and extroot), given the huge capacity of USB devices these days, won't it be nice if gargoyle may offer a third option, a data partition, for users to choose from? Cheers
