Testing it out currently and no issues so far.

Hey bro, How to download a gargoyle image for Edgerouter X?
Download the latest experimental build torrent and extract it from there.

You can check the list of routers first to check it is there. All instructions are in the first post of each thread.

First, I would like to thank you for the previous answer. Make the necessary files and extract them. However, when upgrading via GUI, an error message appears as in the following image.

My edgerouter x is at version 2.0.6

What should I do?

Did you read the installation instructions for your router?
https://openwrt.org/toh/ubiquiti/ubiqui ... ion_method

The fact that you are posting a GUI error, and the only installation method available is by the command line makes me think you're on the wrong path ;)

Is it necessary to do openwrt installation process before making the gargoyle?

No, but the OpenWrt install process is the same as Gargoyle.
So just follow it, and whenever it asks you to use OpenWrt, substitute a Gargoyle equivalent.

I used winscp to send an image from gargoyle to tmp folder. But the same error appears.
How do I step by step?
Detailed please.

What is the name of the file you're uploading to the router?
Before you rename it to gargoyle.bin

If the Gargoyle file is not working it may be worth trying to install OpenWrt and then sysupgrade to Gargoyle the normal way.
You can check the OpenWrt forums if you need more help with that part.

I can't provide more detailed instructions as I don't have the device. The wiki is generally the authority on how to install for your particular device.

Hey there Qwert, sorry about the delay in response. Just tied up with work too much these days.

The image in your post recent post reveals that you're operating with ER-X's software provided by Ubiquiti. In my case I wanted to be a few hops earlier in the process and catch the device before booting Ubiquiti's software (which the USB-Serial adapter comes in handy). That way when the device is booting up, I can see/select 'Load system code to SDRAM via TFTP.' and transfer the proper files over.

The links below will shed a tad bit more light on it.
