I was about to try this out from 1.9.2--and in the past, with such a small version jump, it's been said that it's OK to preserve settings--but this phrasing caught my attention.

Either I've overlooked that before when upgrading from prior versions on other occasions over the last couple years, or something's wrong, I'm not sure which. What I'm referring to is the fact that the box is checked, yet it says that all settings will be erased. Tested in Chrome and Firefox.

same warning message whether you select preserve or not. That's how the code works.
Must have looked over it in the past ;)

OK, thanks, I never noticed it before. It upgraded fine (WNDRMACV2).

Now to look around the rest of the UI to see what I can see.

I'm on Gargoyle Version:1.9.X (Built 20170613-1957 git@7cf7ad1)

option synflood_rate is broken. I try to edit the rate to '100' in /etc/config/firewall but IPtables didn't show any change. rebooted and it still 25/sec.
I think zone lan forward is broken too. I try to change it to 'DROP', rebooted but it still forward my packet to other computer or even internet.

I found issue for /etc/firewall.user config.
Everything we set to 'input_wan_rule' they will be put three times in IPTables after every reboot.
This including rules that created automatically by "gargoyle remote admin access" like shown below.
Chain input_wan_rule (1 references)
target prot opt source destination
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:https
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:https
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:https
Also can you please fix ddns_providers.conf for dnsexit
success_regexp /^0=Success|1=IP*|4=IP not changed*/
I know for ddns it's dnsexit fault for not fixing their script. But this has happen since more than 4 years ago and they seems not gonna fix it. In openwrt this is not a problem since openwrt still allow us to save setting even it didn't return success and the force update will still run. But gargoyle wouldn't even let us save the setting in GUI unless it's a success update. I know gargoyle approach is better since it prevent the user for saving wrong setting but if thing is put like this it make it looks like that gargoyle script for dnsexit is broken.

BTW, Thanks for the good works. QOS still the best of all third party firmware.
