Was wondering if a the ability to have Gargoyle switch DNS between IPS default and OpenDNS based on a schedule might be a useful feature.
Our Satellite ISP gives as plenty of spare bandwidith between 01:00-07:00. 30GB day then 30gb offpeak. I read that Gargoyle has difficulty blocking URLs for microsoft and apple updates due to them being https. So the alternative is to achieve this via openDNS. But then devices cannot update during the wee hours when bandwidth is plentiful. If Gargoyle siwtched away from OPenDNS automativally during this period (with force clients to use router dns set) would this provide a solution? Or would the various unflushed browser and dns caches on devices mean defeat the intent.

Re: DNS change based on Schedule
I think caching may be an issue as you pointed out. But you can achieve this with CRON if you want to try it?

CRON is a bit beyond me I am afraid. Was just throwing it out there as a Feature suggestion. Seemingly it is going to be thwarted by caching, so of little use.
