Hi

usually when I flash new firmware i am not ticking preserve settings -> i must set router again. Setting up firewall rules and static IP assigment will take a lot of time.

It is possible to add some import functionality under Firewall and Assigned Static IP Addresses?
It is not user friendly to type everytime all ports.

I assume that file could be in Json format or format like:
Hostname;MAC;IP
and
Description;Protocol;From Port;To IP;To Port

http://192.168.1.1/backup.sh

if your router IP is 192.168.1.1.

This is the backup configuration area, just save a backup and import it.

It depends on:

What version you are coming from/going to.
What you want to restore.

There are ideas being tossed around for how to implement a better system but no solid outcomes yet.

Well first idea would be to allow users to select specific configurations to save, say I only want my wifi settings and my static ip giving to my dhcp devices, should be check boxes to select only those.

Then, when you go to import, or when you "attempt to preserve settings", it lets you know if the config is compatible by showing the unimportable in red, also letting you select "sections" to import.

Certainly something we discussed.
