In the past I don't believe OpenWRT supported v3, but I believe this has changed and that they now do.
Netgear WNDR3700 v3
Clifton has reported this image as "functioning". This means that it will load correctly and not brick, but the wireless operation is all sorts of messed up. I would strongly advise against the use of this image unless you want to do lots of manual configuration and troubleshooting.

Not comfortable doing this one as the hardware inside could be a couple of different versions and the chances of bricking are
very high.

I've tried 5 or 6 times now and i cannot get this router to build. It always complains that it is out of space.

Where do you find that it is supported?
The only info I can find is people manually building it through patches.
