Change Wireless MAC address option in basic.sh

Post by ggravier »

Hi!

Would it be possible, in basic.sh, to add a line under "Access Point SSID" that asks the user for a Custom MAC Address for the wireless, and that takes the value provided by the user there (the default being the original one from the hardware device) and insert it in the form of a line :

option macaddr 'xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx'

In the "config wifi-iface" section of the /etc/config/wireless file?

The same way as, when you add a Custom MAC Address to the WAN section, there is an "option macaddr" line added to "config interface 'wan'" in /etc/network/config...

That would help a lot everybody trying to do custom hotspots, and would be like what you find on much older firmwares like Tomato for the WRT54G devices. :)

Thanks,
Gilles.
