Post by ispyisail »

Hi Eric

Any chance of adding OpenDNS family filter to the default DNS servers

Code: Select all

208.67.222.123
208.67.220.123
Thanks

This would be awesome as the target market of the FamilyShield DNS are point and click (or pulldown).

I _really_ wished this worked, but as far as I can tell, with Firefox and Chrome shipping with the following type of defaults;

e.g. Chrome - Settings : Advanced...

Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar or the app launcher search box
Predict network actions to improve page load performance (these are selected by default)

DNS restrictions like OpenDNS FamilyShield are almost worthless.

It took me a long time last summer to figure out why I could still browse to prohibited sites even though OpenDNS was put in place. I finally figured out it was due to "trickiness" on the part of browsers.
