resetting pppoe at desired time

Post by razorpl »

Hi.
I wish i could reset pppoe connecion od demand, and according to schedule. For example everyday at 4 am.
I cannot control the time when my ip is changed.
My isp changes ip every 24hour, and it is annoyng when your ip changes while uploading/downloading a file. Then i need to download/upload again due to interruption.

Isn't there an option now for a scheduled reboot of the router?

If not you can always setup a cron job to reboot your router
once a day @ 4AM and that should reset the pppoe connection.

there is possibility to do scheduled reboot. Indeed. But there is no need to reset whole router. I thought that feature, where You have an option to reset only pppoe ad desired hour might be useful as well.

You can try doing that for now.

Not a lot of pppoe users in the US so this may take a while
to get added/implemented.
