Blocking https sites

I am using LinksysWRT 1900 ACS currently. I like to use gargoyle fw but only the draw back is it can't block url which has https.
I have been reading about blocking https site is kind of impossible because it's encrypted. what i don't understand is that if i can block https url with linksys native firmware, why gargoyle fw can not do the same? Because linksys native firmware can block it, i kind of stuck with it..I can't use gargoyle fw as it can't block the https url at the moment. hope next release may have that feature in it..
