B/W distribution anomaly V1.6.0

Post by Algeorge »

Model:D-Link DIR-825 rev. B1
Single wired ccn to main PC; rest on wireless.
Am getting a huge anomaly between what Gargoyle is reporting, and what my ISP is metering. EG for yesterday Gargoyle/Status/ b/w distribution/day/total=398Mb ISP=1200Mb
previous day total=71.8Mb ISP=800Mb
Definitely the ISP will be correct because I know I have been using much more bandwidth than Gargoyle is reporting for my wired PC.
Quotas:
Others (Individual) Always 1024kB/NA/NA /Month
192.168.5.193, 192.168.5.103 Always 20GB/NA/NA

Could the monitoring be upset or reset when I change quotas because I have been fiddling with quotas most days and saving each change??
Thank you.
Alistair.

Thanks but I am bit reluctant to try non-stable firmware. If useage accuracy was an issue, others would most likely be reporting the same problem? I feel the issue is in my setup and perhaps someone can ask or advise the right method to sort it without changing firmwares?

Hi no thats not it as my LAN yesterday used about 300Mb eg youtube downloads and browsing but only shows 4.3Mb. If the LAN traffic were correct, then I suspect accrual of wifi would be close to or correct. So LAN I suspect to be the major problem. Note see OP I have defined LAN to allocation of 20Gb whereas rest wifi 1Mb then 50kBs.

Hi I think I have found the problem - its not recording the date correctly. See the pics below.
The onboard date is correct as the 15th today, and yesterday I used over 2Gb data. Prior to that I used very little eg 100Mb data/day.
See the second pic which shows for the day of 12th the correct data use for day of 14th!!
Oddly, yesterday when the data was being used, it was recorded accurately, its just that when the day changes it seems to lose its day reference.
Any ideas what could be causing this??
