Gargoyle Version: 1.5.11
Model: TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

Hi, anyone use Application (Layer7) Protocol classification rule?
No problem? No crash?
For me it's not working, router crash after adding rules for Skype and run Vuze for torrents...
Max connections, download speed doesn't matter.

I suspect that not many people use L7 pattern matching since it is known to not be effective at classifying traffic.

Still I checked the OpenWRT forum and there are no reports of L7 pattern matching causing crashes. And here on the Gargolye forum we have also not seen such a report before.

Are you saying that if you do not add an L7 rule your router does not crash when running the same torrents? I wonder if this problem could be related to something else.

Also how about trying v1.5.10? Does it also crash?

I'm using for it CounteStrike 1.6 packets, not a single problem so far...

my thread on dd-wrt forums. link
Some story with v1.5.10, 1.5.11.

absolutely stable

I tried others l7 rules and think my problem occurs only with skype patterns.
Can you please add Skype l7 rules for upload-download and look what happen.

Sorry for late reply

Just tested it, made a skype call while uTorrent was downloading.. everything worked as expected and traffic was classified correctly.

My router is a TL MR3420 with a Gargoyle builded at 2013-10-14.
