need QOS help dividing bandwith limit into 2 groups

Post by salvanost »

Hello i need help to dividing QOS into 2 groups, with simple setting

my network speed download 3200kbps - upload 800kbps

with DHCP Lan enabled to 192.168.2.51-192.168.2.250
so guest gonna default into group 2

Group 1: 192.168.2.2 - 192.168.2.50
- mainly no restriction

Group 2: 192.168.2.51 - 192.168.2.250
- mainly use for youtube and facebook
- limited the speed max to 1600kbps
- i want to make sure the youtube got more priority than other use
so everyone could enjoy the youtube

Thx

When using IP addresses you can use the fixed address as you did or you can use CIDR notation. CIDR notation gives the ability to specify a range of addresses but it has some limitations that you would have to work with. To learn about CIDR notation google around.

With only 7 addresses I would stick with what you have since it is very straight forward and easy to understand.
