QoS Max Bandwidth

Post by Dev_BR »

Hi
I created a Service Class Name: "teste" for Down and Upload

It Bandwidth Maximum is Up 50 Kbit/s, Down 100 kbit/s

Now, when I active it for one fixed IP Host, the download and upload is not limited to 50 neither 100 kbit/s, as it should be (?)

Any help ?

Please delete all your quotas. Do not confuse quotas with QoS.
Please post your connection screen and the rules from your QoS page.

ok, no quotas.

Just a simple rule in QoS, one for 100Kbit/s max upload for my PC and other 300Kbit/s max download.

It return about:
104Kbit/s Up (OK)
and
1.3Mbit/s Down

My intention in using quotas, is to filter and block the IPs are not listed. But this is another topic

You did not post the connections screen as I asked. On this screen you can verify that your rules are correctly classifying your traffic.

If you did I think you will see that you are not correctly classifying because your download rule is wrong. Normally on download we use the destination IP and on upload the source IP. You have source IP on both.

Do you mean Status > Connected Hosts ??

I want to limit bandwidth for a specific host (local IP).

Seperate from pbix's response on your qos download screen I see no load on their that demonstrates it has exceeded the max bandwidth.

Also one for pbix or someone that knows, if only one class is active does the max bandwidth still kick in?

I mean Status->Connection List. When you get your rules correct you will see that all connections from the hosts get put into the correct class.

Max bandwidth is always enforced regardless of the number of active classes.

You are correct.

I changed destination IP for my Host IP and now I can see rule in action.

Thank you. Nice work !
