Re: Bandwidth usage per device doesn't add up

Post by jason701802 »

I made that edit locally and it fixes my issue in the Bandwidth Distribution tab.

I'm still getting data showing up in the wrong month for certain devices when I filter by device and month. As you can see, this device shows usage in Oct 2020, but it doesn't show usage if I filter by day or look at the grand total for the router, nor should it since I didn't set up Gargoyle until Nov.

For one device, listed by month. Notice that the total of what's listed for Oct and Nov is 38486147172.

Code: Select all

/www/js$ bw_get -i bdist5-download-month-12 -h -a 192.168.1.104
bdist5-download-month-12 192.168.1.104

19836608160	Sun Nov 1 00:00:00 2020	(Now)
For the same device, listed by day. Notice that the total for all the days in Nov is the same: 38486147172.

Code: Select all

/www/js$ bw_get -i bdist4-download-day-31 -h -a 192.168.1.104

I'm not sure about that one. Seems like it might just be a quirk of the initial install.
I wouldn't worry too much and see if the new data is as expected over the next 2 month.

Hello...a few switches just might not have that degree of detail. I run tomato which would. In any case I think the main activity is to detach it down to which gadget is causing it. On the off chance that the 1 GB/day of transfer is going on reliably, there should be a foundation transfer of 11 KB/s, which ought to be noticeable (trust your switch can in any event give you this data). At that point you can kill your gadgets each in turn to sort out what's causing the transfer. When you discover the gadget, you can zero in on it and sort out what's happening.
