Currently investigating.

Temporary workaround:
If you want to exclude 1 ip (for example 192.168.1.40), also include 1 other dummy IP that is not in use (e.g. 192.168.1.200).
This will obviously also exclude the dummy IP, so make sure it is not in use by another device.

Or

Create the block all rule, then in the whitelist allow the one IP

Issue addressed: https://github.com/ericpaulbishop/gargoyle/pull/698

Unsure when Eric will have time to review it.

Until then please use the workaround as listed above.

Hello

Is there a workaround for the following scenario?

All I want to restrict is

Restricted Resources: Website URL(s):Block Only :Domain Contains :

https://photos.app.goo.gl/mOxHYQ9qwbNwr5eJ2

Basically I want all my network devices to access the internet except for certain domains.

Gargoyle rocks!

URL blocking is effectively broken due to SSL encryption (https).
So not really

I appear to be having some success....

I have a satellite service with a 15GB cap and a small fee of gold-bars per GB top up ;). I have added a number of Apple sites to the Adblock blacklist and appear to be successfully preventing app updates, iOS updates, app installs and especially automatic icloud uploads... These are https sites...

I have not played with the Adblock exclusions, and have it disabled for now, but expect it might give you some space to put some "privileged" devices.

It works perfectly for my situation as this is a family game farm, typically for short visits, and we have uncapped fibre for all these data hogs at home...
