TL-WR1043ND V3 not port forwarding

Post by Cralis »

I have an Archer D7 modem, and the TL-WR1043ND V3.. All is working fine, except external access to my server on my lan. I have forwarded external port 80 to 8080 on my box. But when I connect to external 80, it fails.

External port forwarding serviced day I am not forwarding.

Is there a known issue, or a gotcha that I am missing?
Using a WR1043ND V3 with 1.9.X (Built 20160602-1751 git@09ccf69), Full Bridge.

Resolved by setting my Archer D7 to full bridge mode.

I have the same modem and the same problem. Unfortunately if I run bridge mode I run into other bigger issues. So instead I've bridged the WLAN to LAN which works fine (except for port forwarding).

Can anyone help me to resolve this please because external access is critical.

In your modem, set the WR1043 to a DMZ

Hi Lantis

I set the internal IP of Gargoyle to DMZ (192.168.1.1) but it hasn't helped.
Should I instead of set it the other subnet which my modem runs on (192.168.10.1)?

Actually I just tried setting the DMZ to 192.168.10.2 (Gargoyles other subnet) and also 192.168.10.1 (my 4g modem) but neither worked.

Thanks

No you have it right.
I expect that the traffic is being blocked at the modem side (which is why going full bridge fixed the other users problem).

Can you do port forwarding in the modem as well?

I use Dovado Tiny modem and have previously done port forwarding from there without problems. But I changed several things all at once
  • Added Gargoyle on the WR1043ND as the wan gatekeeper
  • Added a Huawei E3372 modem as it supported bridge mode
  • Changed ISP to Amaysim (uses Optus network)
I guess I now need to remove Gargoyle completely to see if it actually working, maybe the ISP is actually blocking incoming traffic?
