What is the max number for port forwarding rules?

Post by SergeS »

Hello everyone,

What is the max number for port forwarding rules?

Now i have 20 rules, when i tried to add one more - something happens (memory overload?) with router and some rules disappear from the table. After restarting router - ALL rules are gone, but all other settings still there and working.

And the same question for static IPs table - how many rules are allowed there?

Router: Netgear wndr3700v2,
gargoyle version: 1.5.X (Built 20131030-1936 git@8a56193)
Memory usage (from status screen): 19.4MB / 60.3MB (32.2%)

Maybe no body knows

What router model?

Can you confirm by repeating the error?

Hmmm... Have added two more rules - no problem, everything works just fine. Glitch?

Will inform if it repeats...

router model: Netgear WNDR3700v2.

Again crashed.
This time i was editing some rule, when hit "save" button - port forwarding page lost almost all my rules, just few left. recall configuration from backup, edit the same rule right after that - no problem. Seems like not related to the size of the table.
Maybe - randomly crashed?

Loosing configuration settings while saving is often related to having more than one browser connection to the router configuration pages at a time.

Make sure that you have only one browser page open on one computer when hitting the save button.

Regarding your original questions the amount of memory your router has dictates the limits but will be many more than 100.

OK, thank you, but this is not the case. I am only one who is allowed (by me :-) ) to do some changes there, and i did it in one browser window.

That 's a lot, good to hear. I hope the same rule is applicable for Static IP's table, isn't it?

p.s. Thank you, guys, to all of you for good product!
