Hi erez669
pleas try the latest ispi build first find it here
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... =14&t=5533
If you are stil having problems maybe try paching the wifi driver with this http://luci.subsignal.org/~jow/reghack/
read the readme
I no it's for getting channel 12 -13 but it changes some other things as well. It's worth a go anyway.

I did this + disable ANI. No wifi problem, it is stable.

Ok, I have not put the reg-hack in, as discussed in this thread, but have disabled ANI and added the option disassoc_low_ack 0 to wireless.

I can report that my TP-Link 4300 v1.2 works better than Gargoyle 1.6.1 but there are still issues. I have a SqueezeBox Boom WiFi Internet radio in the bedroom about 12-15m from the router. The nice thing about the boom is there is an indication on its display if it has any problems connecting to the internet. Previously, on 1.6.0 it could not get connection and would just fail. With 1.6.1, and the changes I've made, it works more often than not BUT periodically it will loose connection and then re-establish a few to 10 seconds later. With TP-Link stock firmware this never happened.

The basic problem is of course that OpenWRT AA version Gargoyle uses is where the problem resides and until it is fixed we will all have the same result, patchy wifi.

Can anyone confirm that the reg-hack makes wifi completely stable, meaning no dropout? If that's the case, I'll give that a shot and see if I can improve performance a little more.

Further followup, still not really working. Last night everything got kicked off the router, all the wireless devices and I could not even get my PC to access the internet with a wired connection! Powercycling did not even help, finally I got into the router over https.

I note that dd-wrt, gargoyle and open-wrt are all having very similar problems, it must be something with the ath9k driver, or the code that is shared between open-wrt and dd-wrt.

Until this problem is finally solved, the only solutions I can come up with are:
1) Remain with tp-link 4300 stock (double ugh)
2) Purchase a broadcom based router to see if the problem disappears due to different hardware (anyone??)
3) Potentially, a different router manufacturer may not have the same problems, maybe it's a tp-link hardware issue that does not occur on a NetGear modem? (anyone?)

Looks like some research on the weekend.

You might try this version:

http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... =14&t=5724

Just compiled and OpenWRT backport was 40877

You can upgrade from 1.6.1 and keep settings
