Limited connection at least few times a day.

Post by pavelfd »

I use gargoyle_1.4.6-wrt54g-squashfs.bin firmware on a Linksys router and every day I get a limited connection message. I thought it was a DNS issue because I forced Google DNS, so I changed it to a dynamic ISP DNS and still has the same issue...
It disconnects for a few minutes randomly and then starts working again.

Does anybody experience something like this? Is there any log I can check?

Thanks

What program are you running that gives you this message? Be detailed about this, not just a one sentence answer with no information.

This message is from Windows, most likely Windows 7. If this just recently started happening and your Linksys router is anything like mine, you need to boot into the recovery console and run the firstboot command. This will reset the router to stock. I've had to do this every 3-4 months using Gargoyle over the last 1+ years I've used 1.4.7. This has always cured the problem, and I don't know of any better solution. Here are the recovery instructions.

Good Luck.
