Unresponsive

Post by pmerrill »

Got up this morning and the router was doing strange things. Tried to login and it was incredibly slow, login page took many seconds to respond but some of the HTML that came back was obviously dropped. Couldn't connect wirelessly either.

Did a power cycle and it came back ok. Never saw this behaviour with 1.4.6. Are we all confident that this version of Open WRT associated with 1.4.7 is stable?

Ok, so now in the middle of working, all the wireless went out, then about 3-4 minutes later it all came back. Noticed the WLAN Led was not flashing and then it returned?????

Is there any log file I can look at that may tell me what's going on?

What's your wireless config?

Run:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/config/wireless
Blank out your keys, MAC and SSID before posting.

Check the channel saturation in your area. Go to this URL: http://tools.meraki.com/stumbler

Wireless config is

| Gargoyle version 1.4.7 | OpenWrt backfire branch |
| Gargoyle revision 5783343 | OpenWrt revision r30752 |
| Built February 29, 2012 | Target ar71xx/ath9k_usb |
---------------------------------------------------------------
root@Gargoyle:~# cat /etc/config/wireless

config 'wifi-device' 'radio0'
option 'type' 'mac80211'
option 'macaddr' 'ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff'
option 'hwmode' '11ng'
list 'ht_capab' 'SHORT-GI-40'
list 'ht_capab' 'DSSS_CCK-40'
option 'htmode' 'HT40+'
option 'channel' '1'

config 'wifi-iface' 'apcfg'
option 'device' 'radio0'
option 'mode' 'ap'
option 'network' 'lan'
option 'ssid' 'Gargoyle'
option 'encryption' 'psk2'
option 'key' 'xxxxxxxx'

I've used inSSIDer and 1 is as clear as it gets. There are 2 others using channel 6 and one other using channel 11.
