I´ve just installed Gargoyle 1.5.1 in my router TL-WR1043ND and I set up Client+AP mode to get an existent wireless connection and redirect it as a new one using other IP address.

I enclosed my image configuration to keep in mind how it was.

I noticed I can do it as Client mode without issues, but I need to use a cable connection.

My idea was to reach it by a new Wireless SID using other IP route.

Could you help me?

Thanks a lot.

Hello,

I have a TP-1043ND and I use this setup to create a separate wireless connecting in client mode.

I always do it trough the GUI, and I think your problem besides in the
router IP .

You must change it to a separate range.

For example, If you connect to a wireless in the range of 192.168.1.X , the router IP (TP-1043ND) must be changed to another range like 192.168.6.1 , so the clients connected to this router will get an ip in the range 192.168.6.x

So, If the wireless you are connecting ("ana") is in the range 192.168.1.x. , just change the ip of the TP-LINK (with gargoyle installed, of course) to 192.168.5.1, so "ana2" wil give you an ip in the range of 192.168.5.x.

Hope it works, at least for me this is working with La Fonera and TP-1043nd with gargoyle since I used it. I connect to a wireless network and, at the same time, I create another wireless network with different seccurity and different range of ip's.

Best regards

Client+AP mode *SHOULD* be working on all routers in both 1.4.4 and 1.5.1.

I just tested this. I found that sometimes (but not always) I needed to reboot the router manually before it started to work properly, but after that it works fine. I'll look into why a reboot is sometimes required (this is definitely a bug), but until then you should be able to just reboot manually and make it work.

Hi Guys,

So Ana´s router is over 192.168.0.X range, and I´m creating a new SID Wireless over 192.168.1.X... that means my goal is to have a NAT, otherwise I would have created a bridge that really works.

I already did many boots, reconfigured using other options and nothing changed...

I was taking a look at OPENWRT, and I noticed that seems a problem with original firmware, because same issue happens over there. but with one big difference OpenWRT creates a new interface for my wireless called wlan1.

Gargoyle is not creating wlan1, is using for everything wlan0 .

I insert routes manually to help... and nothing goes.
route add -net 192.168.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 dev wlan1
route add -net 0.0.0.0 netmask 0.0.0.0 dev wlan1 gateway 192.168.0.1

I have no ideas!!

Hi,

I have a linksys wrt54g running vers. 1.1 firmware.

I upgraded the firmware to gargoyle 1.5.1 successfully. I initially get into it ok. I set the time zone, but the time is incorrect. I save settings.

The time is still incorrect. I can't find anyway to set the time.

Ok, the real problem. Any time I change the basic settings or any settings, I get the message saving and rebooting. One of two things happen. My router gets hung up where I have to power off/on multiple times or reset..etc..If I am lucky I get back into the firmware. If not, the unit just hangs. When I do get back into setup, the settings are not saved. It goes back to factory defaults.

I thought this firmware was designed for this router. I have installed Tomato firmware, and it work ok.

I also tried to install winrt in the past, and it behaved worse than Gargoyle.

Is there anything I can do to make this work. I really wanted to use this firmware.

Regards

No need to be rude.

I just need help like you.

I'm sure that people won't want to help you with that kind of attitude.

I think the forum moderator should have something to say about this.

Good Luck
