Roaming wierdness 1.4.0

Post by Adri »

I currently have 3 non-gargoyle AccessPoints installed, all using the same SSID with the same WPA2-PSK.
This way clients can select the best AP and connect to them, roaming to a different AP if they start moving around the building and the signal degrades.
I have a WRT160NL installed as a client bridge with gargoyle 1.4.0, which connects to this wireless SSID and never moves around the building.

Initially gargoyle selects the strongest AP and connects to it, as I expect.
After some time, gargoyle will disconnect from the first AP and make a new connection to the second AP, which is the medium strength one, but still provides a good signal strength and transfer rate.
Again after some time gargoyle will disconnect from the second AP and roam to the third AP, which is the lowest signal strength of all.
This results in low transfer rates and I also notice about 30% retransmissions when doing a 'iwconfig'.
Gargoyle has been connected to the worst AP now for a few days and never roams back to one of the other, better APs.

Has anyone seen this roaming behaviour or know how to fix it?

Adri.
