DHCP will not stay off

Post by dpritt »

I have just loaded Gargoyle 1.12 onto an Archer C7 V2 to be used as a additional dumb AP on my IOT network.
All looks OK except I need to switch off the DHCP as leases are issued by pfSense.
I keep switching it off, and it keeps switching back on showing a range of 192.168.110.100 to 'NaN on the screen.
Can someone please provide the correct config entries, I am happy to add these via WinSCP, I have tried a few from the OpenWRT forums, but none seem to work.
Currently the two systems are fighting each other to issue addresses.

Thanks

Dave

It is a bug in 1.12, which has been subsequently fixed in later versions and in 1.13 (and beyond).

It will turn itself back on when you make changes to the Connection Basic page. Configure your network as you need, and then make the last thing you do disabling the DHCP server.
If you are going to be regularly pressing save on Connection Basic, you are going to run into this regularly and should just update to the latest version so it is no longer a problem (besides all the security benefits of doing so).
