WIFI Chanel Trouble

Post by cobra98 »

Since few weeks i have problems with another router which is shown as hidden sid. But auto channel change.
What parameters i can set to help this?
My router works best with channel 11.
Can i add some parameters to handle the conflict?
If i change the chanel so does the other router and with channel 11 it works but the signal sometimes conflicts and connection of devices seems to loose.
Any settings possible in the config file to handle this?

If the remote router with hidden ssid has auto channels set up and you do not have access to change the channel value permanently, then you probably won't do anything about it.

Make sure (via ssh) that you have this option in the /etc/config/wireless file:

Code: Select all

option disassoc_low_ack '0'
(This option is included by default in Gargoyle 1.12.0 in AP mode)
Turris Omnia with OpenWrt 21.02 - Tested
Linksys WRT3200ACM with Gargoyle 1.13.x
TL-WR1043ND v2 with Gargoyle 1.10.0

Go and have a chat with your neighbour and help them set it up better to benefit you both.

not really possible because it is unclear which one it is also i don`t think he would care about it.
There was a setting to force radical transmission i remember something. Is this not possible anymore or that i set to auto channel too?

This setting does not affect stability for the better (rather the opposite). You may think it is going faster, but it is at the expense of stability in a distracted environment. This setting only forces 40MHz even if they overlap: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11n-2009

So far it is stable the connection to my door opener without problems so far.
Can not say it is a problem really.
