TOR Ip address

Post by JV78 »

Today I've updated my Archer C7 V2 from Gargoyle 1.10 to 1.12. Everything works like a charm, eventually, so thanks to all the programmers out there doing the hard work. If I could code better, I'd love to help but the truth is that I'm limited to some goofing around in arduino.
But my question: when I activated tor in 1.10, I could see in any browser that my IP address had changed. Now with 1.12, the IP address remains unchanged. Is this intentionally? I know you should use Tor browser in combination with a VPN but I'm just curious.

Ah okay, I'll try to explain.
Suppose my WAN IP address is 95.95.95.95 without TOR enabled. As seen when using whatsmyip or another site.
In version 1.10, after enabling TOR, using the same site, my IP would be different, let's say 55.55.55.55.
However, doing the same in version 1.12 results in my original and real IP address: 95.95.95.95.
All of this while using chrome. Hope this clarifies things.
