Hi Guys,

I have a problem with iphone openvpn app using mobile data, it will show connected but, I cannot browse the internet, it seems that mobile internet uses ipv6 and gargoyle uses ipv4 protocol and it doesn't communicate well.

I have tried my friends home internet and try to disable able my iphone data and uses their wifi to connect my openvpn at home and everything looks good. I check my my external ip and it shows my router external ip.

Can someone please advise how to make iphone openvpn works using mobile data?

Thank you guys.

There is a checkbox to adjust the firewall settings for devices like iPhones. Have you tried this? I'm in a remote location so can't check its real name.

Hi ispyisail,

Cannot find firewall setting on iphone, I believe this is some bugs on openvpn app for iphones.

As long as the wifi connection is working via openvpn, still better than both of them not working.

Will wait for the next openvpn app update and will try again.

Thank you.

For what it’s worth, my OpenVPN works over cellular just fine.
My carrier does not hand out IPv6 to our devices though, which very well could be the issue.

I’m not aware of any configuration changes needed from Gargoyle, but it is possible.
It may be required that we need to push null routes for ipv6 to stop your data, but I do not know.

Thanks for the update Lantis, I will wait for the next openvpn update, as it has ipv6 issues on openvpn forum.

Will keep you guys posted.

Oh excellent!
That saves me digging into it further. I was coming up with not many answers.
