Openvpn on tp link wdr4300 v1

Hi guys
I have tp link 1043nd v 1 and tp link wdr4300 v 1 on gargoyle version 1.10.0 latest version.I want to run openvpn server on 1 but I try both didn’t work for me. I have bell fibe internet modem 2000, I gave static ip and forward 1194 port bell modem to tp link router. But I doesn’t seems to work when check open port on canyouseeme/org. I try credential on iphone6 ios 10 but doesn’t connect.
2nd method I forward 1194 port from gargoyle tplink to openvpn ip 10.8.0.1.
Still no luck. In both method im using dyndns/org address as server address and Route to subnet ip nothing worked so far
I just wanna know where im doing wrong

on Bell modem gave static ip 192.168.2.33 to tplink
and tplink 192.168.1.1 also selected subnet behind client and select route the subnet the below “option”
no luck at all..

as you indicate the usual problem is port
forwarding

You can eliminate this by setting up a test network inside your LAN to test other setting are working first.

Does Your ISP allow ports to be forwarded?

I doubt it, i setup ddwrt pptp server earlier that worked fine within my network but couldn't access from iphone6 ios10.
Im really confused about this. Im goona try router to router will post updates here.

I have a tp link wdr4300 v1 and using version 1.10 on it and running OpenVPN successfully with an Android tablet and phone. So looks like you face some setting issues only.

I use standard settings provided by the Gargoyle GUI on the connection page. Here my settings:

Code: Select all

Server configuration:
OpenVPN Internal IP:    10.8.0.1
OpenVPN Internal Subnet Mask:   255.255.25.0
OpenVPN Port:   UDB
OpenVPN Protocol:   UDB
OpenVPN Cipher: AES-CBC 256bit
Client-To-Client Traffic:   Allow Clients To Communicate with each Other
LAN Subnet Access:  Allow Clients To Access Hosts on LAN
Credential Re-Use:  Credentials Are Specific to Each Client
Clients Use VPN For:    All Client Traffic

Client configuration:
Client Name:    "Android device"
Client Internal IP: 10.8.0.X
Client Connects To: Dynamic DNS: xxx.xxx.xx (use WAN-IP for testing if you like)
Subnet Behind Client:   No Subnet Defined

Firewall / Port Forwarding:
Description	 Protocol	From Port	To IP				To Port	
OpenVPN		  UDP		  1194		(router internal IP)	1194		

On my Android Tablet I USE 'OpenVPN for Android' from Arne Schwabe from the PlayStore. I transfer the single configuration files for each client to the client and install them as requested by 'OpenVPN for Android'.
