dns assignment

Post by dochamada »

Hello sir
I have started to Gargoyle for my tp link router(WR841N)and its realy a very stable and powerful firmware.

My isp have a share intranet website that i cant access with the new firmware because i cant force the router to use my isp dns to the wireless users.

It allways read 192.168.0.1 in all connected machines.

When i change the dns in lan settings in the router, the dns applied only to wan ppoe dns instead of lan dns.

The only way to open the share website is to assign the the isp dns manually in each machine connected to the router.

I hope you understand my problem and i wish to get help from you and sorry for my bad english,

Thanks in advanced.

The router holds the ISP DNS, and all DNS requests are sent to the router and forwarded to the ISP DNS. This should work.

But if it is not working as you say, then your only option is to configure all clients to manually use the ISP DNS, or to use DHCP "option 6" to make the router distribute the ISP DNS to the clients.

This will need to be setup manually

This mentions option 6

Please be respectful when posting. I do this in my free time on a volunteer basis.
