Route Browser Traffic through OpenVPN tunnel

Post by Gargoyans »

Hello !
Am new to Gargoyle, I want to surf (Win10 PC and Android phone) from A Café and pass all my web traffic through the tunnel to my home router which is running Gargoyle 1.9.2 OpenVPN. I managed to set up to access my own LAN but web browsing still goes through Cafe's network i.e. the NIC. Forum said this is OpenVPN default.

Anyone can share a tutorial or give some pointers on how to achieve this? I read OpenVPN Forum that I need to add push "redirect-gateway def1 bypass-dhcp" to server.conf, this means I need to access the router at command line level to edit the server.conf. Do I need to do anything on client.conf and Win10 registry?

Is there a command line plug-in on the GUI to edit the server.conf? Or I need to use the usb serial link.

screen shot please

I wonder if you have damaged the config file by manually editing it?

Many thanks, managed to see the server.conf in /etc/openvpn/ and the
push "redirect-gateway def1
is already there, so nothing to change and got all the browser traffic pass through the tunnel on Windows 10 (no need to edit registry as some suggested) but need to run OpenVPN client as Admin. Also worked on my android phone.

:D
