Updated my second Tp-Link WDR4300 and TL-WR842ND with sysupgrade file preserving settings and it worked without problems.
I don't know why yesterday i had problems with my first WDR4300.

WDR4300 V1.3 used Sysupgrade resulted in Bricked Router had to unbrick using TFTP method and Nokia Cable.
I have one more WDR4300 to upgrade, how can i avoid Brick again?

Oh this time i was late to help but i am glad you solved.
MTD method and upload in tmp folder is the method i use when i play around.
Be sure when you do this the firmware used is without _boot_ and if it is cut it or use one without _boot_ .

I have to flash a Tp-Link TL-WR1043ND V1.8.
Can i flash directly the latest Stable Verison of Gargoyle without having problems?
In Openwrt Wiki i saw a problem with WAN port being blocked at boot.

Look, i don't know if we can flash back via Web Interface but to be sure i did not try it and will allways use the upload method because it worked several times without problem.
In DDWRT they have revert firmwares it would be a nice option on Gargoyle if this was possible.

Hello garyhome Upload the file using Winscp in the /tmp folder of your router. Connect with Putty and give this commands: cd /tmp mtd -r write /tmp/tplink.bin firmware Every command at once hitting Enter. I had a brick problem with my TL-WR841ND and had to wait a lot of time until my Nokia Cable arrived to unbrick.
Now that i know what i made wrong the best way to flash back is to cut the firmware upload it via WinScp and flash it with the mtd command.
