Re: Port forwarding fails

Mystery, mystery. Without changing anything, lo and behold; today all clients could get through. Problem appears to have solved itself.

Re: Advice Requested

Netgear WNDR3700v2 with Gargoyle version 1.4.0 is running great here. The original firmware is crap, and I came close to sending it back, but now I'm very happy with it. So absolutely a good choice!

Re: Port forwarding fails

Thanks DIM and mix, Apologies to DoesItMatter for shrinking his nym. :D Thanks, both, for your replies. Changing the standard ports 88 and 22 for the Gargoyle interface, was the first thing that I did, so that can't be the cause. I might try to upgrade to firmware version 1.4.1. I've been a bit hesi...

Re: Guest network??

Hi, Thanks for your reply and the link. That's a lot of information to chew and digest. Being short on free time for the next weeks, I think I'll take it slow and read and learn a lot before I roll up my sleeves and get to work on this. <grin> Very grateful for the direction you pointed out for me!

Re: Guest network??

The question still is; is it possible to setup guest networks within Gargoyle firmware?

Re: WNDR3700

YW. Good to know you got it working. I think you will like the way your router works with the Gargoyle firmware. I know I do with my 3700v2!

Re: Port forwarding fails

Thanks for your reply, but it isn't the ISP. It worked perfectly well with a previous router, forwarding the standard http and ssh ports 80 and 22. Even forwarding incoming 8x or 888 to local 80 does not work now. So the problem is either the router settings, some firmware glitch in version 1.4.0. (...

Re: WNDR3700

It's a version 1 of the 3700 series. The firmware for version 2 starts with 1.0.0.6 (according to the information on the netgear site).

Re: WNDR3700 Dual Band Setup Issues/Questions

Hi,

Speaking for the 3700v2: The hardware should make this possible, because the (overall very crappy) original firmware has this option. It seems to lack this refinement in the Gargoyle firmware. The security settings appear to combine the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.

Re: WNDR3700 5ghz repeater?

Don't know about the functions of the Gargokle firmware on the version 1 of the 3700, but on the 3700v2 that I have here it works just fine. Just a question; in the Connection / Basic / Wireless, did you set it to Dual band? Otherwise on the v2 I don't see the 5GHz.
