Re: Problems with shared directory
In my case, possibly problems with the power supply. It's a 2,5" HDD (Toshiba 2TB) that pulls 500mA upon startup, which might be a bit much for the Archer C7 it's attached to. I've since added a powered hub in between, so will have to keep watching. Anyway, hitting save without having changed a...

Re: Problems with shared directory
Could you simply add a "restart samba/cifs/ftp/whatever" button on the usb storage page? I've been hitting the same problem, and solved it by issuing /etc/init.d/samba reload from the web shell. Found that one here on the forums in https://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2483...

Re: TP-Link Archer C7 - Hardware buttons
v4 - v5 WPS/Reset Button: Short Press = Toggle wifi on/off Long Press = Factory reset Reset Button: Short Press = Reboot router/reset Long Press = Factory reset Wouldn't it be better to have an "erase usage data" for long press on the WPS button? That way, if there were a reboot loop due ...

Re: Gargoyle Reset
The C7 should have a reset button on the back. At least mine has. It's not recessed, but very tiny. It's labeled WPS/RESET. With stock firmware, it initiates WPS if pressed briefly and reset if pressed for more than 5 seconds. The power button is a physical switch that interrupts the power supply. R...

Re: 1.11.0.x gargoyle-ispy 2019-April-13 21
I want to prevent 192.168.0.13 from having any internet access (except DNS and NTP, if I can't redirect the latter to my local time server). If you want IP 192.168.0.13 to only have access to DNS and NTP, the rule should look like this: https://i.imgur.com/QVIO3Gr.png The firewall works well, but i...

Re: 1.11.0.x gargoyle-ispy 2019-April-13 21
I want to block some devices, but if I do so, save the setting and open it up again for editing, it switches back from "nothing allowed" to "everything allowed". A screenshot and a more detailed description will help us. Even with a setting to block everything but the global DNS...

In language manager, when a second language is installed, the default language (english) can be selected, but the name isn't displayed in the list.

Re: 1.11.0.x gargoyle-ispy 2019-April-13 21
Installed on my Archer C7 V2. Configured from scratch (well, mostly, copied over dhcp config and hosts), but am running into a problem with the firewall configuration. I want to block some devices, but if I do so, save the setting and open it up again for editing, it switches back from "nothing...

Re: Semi-bricked Archer C7 V2
I did issue the firstboot command, which didn't finish. After that, I tried mounting /dev/mtdblock3 to overlay but was lacking the necessary "-t jffs2" parameter. Adding that one, the partition is mounted but seems to have been erased as announced by jffs2reset. Okay, will try another reb...

Re: Semi-bricked Archer C7 V2
mount_root takes a second or two, but seems to do nothing. Yes, it just happens, but the command will be executed in the background. a) FAILSAFE MODE is very limited. b) mount_root gives you access to the "/overlay" folder (in this directory is all configuration) after entering "moun...
