Re: Version 1.11.0 : Based on OpenWrt 18.06

TL-WR1043ND v1.x (32MB RAM, 8MB flash, 400mhz CPU) running Gargoyle 1.11.0. Upgraded without attempting to preserve any previous settings. I have noticed multiple problems compared to 1.09 and 1.10, both which ran very stable. Attempting to access the Port Forwarding page results in either: 1) not l...

Re: QOS for bufferbloat and everything else

All unused bandwidth is recycled among the other classes according to their ratios. So if you set your Gaming class to 99% bandwidth, but only actually use 20%, the remaining 79% can (and will) be reused by other classes. If your Gaming class is at 99% and actually uses that much, then the other cla...

Re: QOS for bufferbloat and everything else

With what setup exactly? 1% BW + a sufficient minimum kbps or just the percentage value alone? Compared to what setup? The percentages in my post are just placeholders so don't read too much into them. The idea would be to always give priority to the smaller packets. Considering they are so small yo...

Re: QOS for bufferbloat and everything else

Seems like my previous post answers some of your questions and we both reached similar conclusions in what direction to take: https://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=11167&start=40#p50898 The short version is that (at least based on my limited sample) most smaller scale ga...

Re: Default QoS Rules Contest **Complete**

I have made some further research on the topic and decided to expand the ruleset as shown below. (Note that the class percentages are just placeholders, explained in detail below.) With this setup downloading or streaming videos (at full speeds) seem to have barely any effect on my ping ingame. The ...

Seems to be a duplicate of:

I noticed the exact same symptoms OP is describing.

Bug: QoS Percent BW adds up to 101%

If you add 5 classes, then set their Percent BW to 1%, 1%, 33%, 33% and 33% respectively, these settings stay like that after the settings are applied. Similarly, if you later try to increase the last three classes to lets say 50% (from 33%), the percentages are automatically adjusted back to 33% wh...

Re: Default QoS Rules Contest

As far as P2P goes, the conclusion here is that prioritizing ACK is detrimental: http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?threads/using-qos-tutorial-and-discussion.28349/#post-138513 The first post is also a nice read. I can't really say whether I agree or disagree, I'll just keep testing and see what I...

Re: Default QoS Rules Contest

Some interesting ideas but nothing for the upload rules? I've also been mirroring my download and upload rules so far. It would probably make sense to have upload classes under tighter conditions but I haven't settled on a specific value yet. As far as gaming goes, I would hesitate to go down to 12...

Re: How to allow unlimited Spotify streaming, but throttle everything else?

If the actual data goes through port 80 that'll be a problem.

You could also try filtering the traffic by IPs. According to some site these might be the ranges for Spotify:
78.31.8.0/21
193.182.8.0/21
194.68.28.0/22

Worth a shot but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
