Re: Archer C7 V2 - WAN Speed ~50Mbps

Disable both your QoS and quota will allow you to reach almost 100Mbps WAN on Archer C7 V2 or wr1043nd v2/3 but that kinda defeats the purpose of using Gargoyle router.

If upgrading from factory firmware, flashing this directly on the V3 will work just fine. I have done this before soon after 1.9.x is released.

Re: Advice needed for rural ADSL / 4G Combo

Gargoyle does NOT support dual WAN, only fail-over is possible. You will need to look for other solutions if you want to manage both ADSL and 4G usage independently in dual WAN configuration. My only suggestion is for you to have your Gargoyle router serving your 4G connection, so you can manage its...

Re: Repeating a phone hotspot and user limits

Does it offer user quotas in wireless repeater mode? I cannot set daily limits on the phone. If you set Gargoyle to use your hotspot as your WAN, then you can set limit on Gargoyle router but not if you merely use it as WIFI repeater. You can set data limit on Android phone but obviously it don't h...

do not need both connections active concurrently, but switch to wireless client if the WAN connection is down Wrong topic. Re: Enabling routing between two subnets on two Gargoyle routers

Problem statement Any computer connected to Router 2 (192.168.2.0/24) can ping any computer on Router 1 (192.168.1.0/24). However, any computer connected to Router 1 cannot access any of the computers connected on Router 2. You should not try to get around it. This is meant to happen by design. You...

RE: the requirements I want to be able to have guests and particularly, the little ones, connecting to the Gargoyle router and not the netgear. You really should force everyone on the Gargoyle, so you can manage bandwidth unless you have better reasons not to, i.e. turn off the WiFi on your Netgear...

Re: Bandwidth distribution reading very low compared to ISP

Oddly, after the update Gargoyle wouldn't reload my settings backed up from 1.8.1, but there wasn't much reset, so no big deal. If my configuration was damaged somehow, perhaps it explains the bandwidth tracking issue (in some arcane way). -- Joe Well, the good news is you didn't brick your router ...
