Re: Samsung USB printer

I think he didn't understand how to connect a USB printer to print through a router from a computer. So perhaps this guide will help: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/print_server/p910ndprinterserver#configure_clients or Gargoyle documentation: https://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/doku.p...

Re: OpenVPN Install Errors on WDR3600 V1.5

Yea looks a lot like out of flash errors. One of the things about the filesystem is you write data 1 block at a time. So even using 1byte over the threshold will use the entire 48 (or whatever size) block. I'd say for this reason the space calculation is flawed. If someone came up with a better cal...

Re: OpenVPN Install Errors on WDR3600 V1.5

Flash may have succeeded, but what about saving configurations? There may be a problem.

 If you have little in Flash, try extroot to USB, it should help.

Re: Don't get the maximum speed, even half of this.

I have the same issue with my refurbished Archer C7 V5 running Gargoyle 1.12.0, attached to a refurbished Netgear (CM700) cable modem. I get 240+ Mbps from my ISP when tested without the Gargoyle router. The speed slows down significantly to less than half (avg = 105Mbps) with the Gargoyle router. ...

Re: Netgear Nighthawk R6700v2 Ac1750

BP70 - I have been scouring the internet and cannot find OpenWRT for 6700v2. Can you share a link? "Stable Release Build" is not yet (therefore Gargoyle will not be), it is only in the developer section (images do not contain LuCI GUI, you must manually install). Techdata: https://openwrt...

Re: what ports are exposed on wan side

It seems to me that nmap is a program and you run it from the LAN. If you run a program to test the WAN IP address, the result will always be biased because NAT Loopback is performed. The test must always be performed from the outside. Try it through these pages (sorry, they are only in Czech): http...

Re: what ports are exposed on wan side

By default, no port is open from the WAN (only the PING (ICMP) port is allowed) - other settings in the firewall do not allow this. Information from the WAN side can be confused because by default it responds to all ports by the "REJECT" command following the RFC standard. The big guess is...

Re: USB attached printer

Have you ever used USB attached printer I haven't tried it before but when I was just scrolling down on Facebook I see and ad of printerland where they are providing USB attached printer in a very cheap price. Beware of drivers that support your operating system. Some vendors sell really extra chea...

Re: Issues with web monitoring & recent web searches

Thanks all for the speedy replies :!: According to Lantis, "Web searches, no. Just not possible with encrypted packets," is it because of my VPN or Google chrome now encrypts all web traffic? It is not a problem in VPN bridge or any browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, ...) - it is a specifica...
