Re: Wireless Bridge/Repeater router keeps disconnecting
Those both relate to the ethernet port designated "WAN" at the back of the router. In Bridge mode, this port isn't used and may be re-purposed as additional LAN port.

Re: Gargoyle 1.12 for WA801ND V1
You could try OpenWRT instead: https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wa801nd
But as already has been said, your device is obsolete due to lack of sufficient flash space.

Re: Wireless Bridge/Repeater router keeps disconnecting
Related questions: Repeater is broadcasting on a different SSID. Does that reduce reliability of the connection? No, this shouldn't matter. But any router in bridge mode doubles the load on the wifi channel, and I've had routers crash under high load (not Gargoyle, though). Would it help if the cha...

Re: Wireless Bridge/Repeater router keeps disconnecting
Yes. Software has bugs, some are very hard to find and eliminate. I've had problems with Bridge disconnecting frequently, thus disrupting the VPN connection that was routed over that bridge. There was an error message on the client, though, stating incompatible mode changes from the host (wide...

Re: Wireless Bridge/Repeater router keeps disconnecting
Simply enable ping watchdog (destination: Router 1) on Router 2 and select "restart wifi" as action (or issue custom command "wifi" for older versions).

Re: 1.12.0.x gargoyle-ispy 2020-April-29 19
Well, I've just now rebooted the device and captured the logread before it was completely overwritten by bogus "broken pipe" messages. Anyway, here it is. I can't find any occurences of the term "swap" therein. Sat Aug 15 20:19:42 2020 kern.info kernel: [ 1.472216] VFS: Mounted r...

Re: setting up Gargoyle router with Viasat
So if I change the router IP as below and hardwire it into the Viasat modem that should work? To access Gargoyle settings would be the same except typing the new IP address into my browser? Yes. But only if you haven't assigned static addresses in Gargoyle (DHCP), as you would have to change all of...
