Re: Adblock Plugin
While a re-write may well be warranted, I wouldn't be too harsh on yourself ;) as it seems to work ok within it's limitations and I don't think many have hit either the pre-installed or ext_root related problems. If you want to check any of the other plugins that aren't usually built into official i...

Re: Adblock Plugin
On at least some devices, the adblock lists don't seem to get updated as expected. I think this comes down to a path issue in the adblock cron entry. The standard crontab entry set by /usr/lib/adblock/runadblock.sh is: 0 4 * * 0 sh /plugin_root/usr/lib/adblock/runadblock.sh However on affected devic...

[Solved] ssh connection fails: no matching host key type found
Just heads up: recent versions of OpenSSH (e.g. on Ubuntu 22.04) decline to connect to a Gargoyle router with an error message like: no matching host key type found. Their offer: ssh-rsa These OpenSSH versions have dropped default connection support for RSA based host keys so you need to use solutio...

Re: TL-WR902AC
According to the OpenWrt build recipe there appears to be only one hardware ID for both US and EU market TL-WR902AC v3s (and OpenWrt definitely appears to install and run on both variants). OpenWrt's device page includes a WiFi capability report which includes the upper 5GHz channels so I think Lant...

Re: TL-WR902AC
TL-WR902AC v3 with official firwmare doesn't detect 5Ghz DFS channel like channel 100. Does Gargoyle firmware solves with problem ? If you can't use DFS channels with the OEM factory firmware I very much doubt that any other firmware will "fix" the problem - it means that you are in an ar...

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.13.0.x for mt76x8 architecture routers (ramips subtargets)
i rebooted several times and it's always the same. i can select DHCP so it's not a problem. i have the same modem but i also have a D-Link and not matter which one was connected before. the router cannot get an IP somehow. I'm sorry - I'm missing something in understanding your description :( Just ...

Re: troubleshooting no WAN IP
As best I can tell the MAC address difference you found is directly attributable to the transition from ar71xx to ath79: ar71xx seems to get them from the art partition while ath79 seems to get them from the uboot (bootloader) partition. I'm wondering if you were to set the Use Custom MAC Address co...

Re: troubleshooting no WAN IP
Did you notice whether your WAN MAC address changed between the different installations at all? Can't say I did. I just checked now though and my modems known CPE MAC ends in 1C If I run an ifconfig on gargoyle it shows eth0: ......1C wlan0: ....1D wlan1: ....1E I have no idea how the VLANs or what...
