Re: wzr-hp-g300nh2

NCHALL: After you tried to flash Gargoyle, how did you recover? I can't seem to get TFTP working on 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.11.1 (as I'm not sure if any of the Gargoyle "took" and the IP to use). I did have previous success doing TFTP on this 300NH2 version.

Re: Quota Indivdual PC

I answered this elsewhere in this forum and won't repeat here. I'll have to do some additional testing, as the poster above is stating that individual quota's are respected per intentions, but the QoS is acting in a combined way. Unless I've had my head in the sand, that was not my impression of how...

Re: Throttle Bandwidth / Bandwidth Sharing

I just re-read the posts and realized that some clarification is required. You do NOT have to create a bunch of static IP and map MAC to enforce individual quota's. That would be way too much effort. I've been using Gargoyle for a couple years at a not-for-profit CAMP along with QoS to cause that IP...

Re: Throttle Bandwidth / Bandwidth Sharing

I'm WISHING for a simple splash page feature for Gargoyle... something that it doesn't YET have ;) I notify camp users the limitations of their free WiFi service the old fashioned way... a paper poster on a bulletin board next to a main washroom. The camp is remote so the internet comes via a cellul...

Re: Throttle Bandwidth / Bandwidth Sharing

I've used Gargoyle to feed a CAMP WiFi system and it seems to work quite well. I've set Gargoyle enforces 200 Mb per IP per weekend, and another 300 Mb for weekdays. If anyone tries to watch TV they will blow through their quota within an hour and be throttled to dial up speeds. QoS ensures voice pr...

1.3.5 Time and DST

v1.3.5 Asus WL-500GP v1 Check the status of you Gargoyle Status > Bandwidth Usage page. My table is set for Days and Total BW. Today is November 7th and this morning at 02h00 we all turned our clocks back for Standard time. BW Usage Table is incrementing the usage for Nov 6. Seems that the Nov 6th f...

Re: Web Usage page stops displaying results

Interestingly, this issue persists with v1.3.5. Uptime has been 4 days and memory usage over 55%.

I'm guessing without anyone else experiencing this, it must be limited to my Asus WL-500gP v1?

Version 1.3.5: DHCP Not Working right?

I had a previous version of Gargoyle (1.2.x) with DHCP working fine. Since I installed 1.3.5 on an Asus 500GP v1 I noticed that the same host will reset their DHCP lease time every time they start a new session. I set lease time to 170 hours to help with some quota restrictions. No host IP actually ...

Re: USB Data Modem 3g support

That is clever. Nice solution to turn the Gargoyle router into a cellular data modem connected hotspot while making sure you don't exceed your monthly cap.

Any pointers in trying to make this work with other USB data modems? Thanks.

Re: Mobile User Interface?

I've used the Gargoyle interface on my Blackberry 9700. One has to keep zooming in to see anything, but it seems to work and I can select things to view. Except the graphs. I'd imagine that there are a lot of variables here depending on the smartphone display, OS, etc. The latest iPhone and Android ...
