Sounds like the easy fix is to use the stock or different firmware. Guys i desperately need help..i installed the 1.5.5 and again even after providing the wan ip etc in the router, i am not getting internet...the wan light stays off without any internet connection. My setup is a static wired connect...

You should be using 1.4.7. The wireless drivers in 1.4.7 and 1.5.4 are the same, so I don't really know what your observations are related to.

The Dlink G604T is a modem with a router built in. Did you bridge it before you hooked up the TL-WR1043ND? What wan ip address does the TL-1043ND report it has when plugged into the Dlink G604T?
