Re: FTTN modem advice, I have ArcherC7 & WRT1900ACS

DSL-5300 is an absolute overkill as a dumb modem. If your ISP does not provide you a modem, most budget modems will work. If you want an all-in-one device, openwrt supports some (https://openwrt.org/toh/views/toh_modem_supported?dataflt%5B0%5D=modem_%3DVDSL2). Don't have any info on how it will beha...

Re: FTTN modem advice, I have ArcherC7 & WRT1900ACS

Lantis's setup is a way to go.
That has been my setup for many years now:
- Old Setup for 4+ years, used: ISP's VDSL Sagemcom Modem/Router - DMZ - Gargoyle Router; no problems at all
- Current setup (about 2 months): ISP's Fiber modem/router - PPPOE - Gargoyle Router; no problems at all

Re: Problem with Quotas

Great. You're right. WDR4300 uses hardware NAT. I've reached 960MBs (download) on stock firmware. Openwrt does not use hardware NAT -- the heavy job is made by the CPU alone, so speeds are much lower. I have the same issue. Can`t enable QOS because my router is not fast enough. DDWRT's QOS is much w...

Re: Problem with Quotas

Guys,

Quotas in this case = QoS?

WNDR4300 v1 is Atheros AR9344 (560 MHz)
My router (WDR4300 v1) has the same CPU. With QoS enabled, it won`t go faster than 70MBs.

Mind double-checking if the main router has enough horsepower to reach 140MBs with QoS (or Quotas...) enabled?

If you take 2 mins per day to read this forum you`ll realise how incorrect that statement is.

Re: QoS ACC Degrades Over Time - v1.11 RC5

Find your gateway and leave 100000 ping 1/s on it. Analyze the result looking for instabilities. QoS use this basic procedure to balance yourself. With ACC on, it mostly reached 8.x mbps max because ACC would go a little down over time, depending on ping responses. Will post more info as I see how ...
