Re: Howto flash Gargoyle onto Rosewill RNX-N300RT

Was in the same boat as you, coming from ddwrt. 1.5.8 works quite well on the RNX-N300 and I am also using it as a repeater. I am repeating the same ssid, not sure if that is what you're doing. I also wrote about the RNX-N150 appending most of the information from this thread. Maybe it'll help you i...

TL-WA901ND flash and revert.

Is there a revert file available for TL-WA901ND? Or could I just use the regular tp-link firmware from the gargoyle firmware upgrade page in case I cant to go back to stock firmware?

How did you go about the failsafe? What did you try exactly?

Re: WR1043ND v1.9 and Gargoyle 1.5.9

I don't know about 1.9, but I have a Tp-link WR1043ND 1.10. Some of my results (all in repeater/bridge mode, not router): 1.4.7 - stable for me. There is some kind of Wan issue when being used as a router, but that may have been fixed. 1.5.9 - Flashed fine, but didn't connect 1.5.8 - Same result as ...

Re: Best IP address to use for repeater?

Alright, thanks.

I think I was confused on what "in the same subnet" meant. I thought anything in 192.168.x.x was in the same subnet, but its actually 192.168.1.x.

Also, both the repeater and the main router have to be on the same channel as well?

Best IP address to use for repeater?

I was looking through the following: http://www.tp-link.com/us/article/?faqid=250 I have configured gargoyle as a Wireless Bridge/Repeater (second option in the 'Device configureation' menu). But what should I set the Bridge IP or the repeater IP to? The main router is at 192.168.1.1, so its it ok i...

How to flash Gargoyle on to Rosewill RNX-N150RT and revert.

Basically took the steps from http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3539 and applied it to the RNX-N150RT. Not sure if this is redundant, so feel free to remove this thread. Most of this is a copy/paste. The RNX-N150RT is a rebranded TP-Link TL-WR741ND v1. Note: I did a 30/30/...

Thanks for the instructions, they worked well for me.

Re: Rosweill RNX-N150RT error message.

What did you rename it to exactly?

I tried gargoyle.bin, and that didn't work for me.

It maybe something more involved since its a Rosewill router and not Tp-link...maybe a header needs to be edited.

Rosweill RNX-N150RT error message.

The RNX-N150RT is rebagged wr741nd-v1, so I download the following files: gargoyle_1.5.8-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr741nd-v1-squashfs-factory.bin gargoyle_1.5.8-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr741nd-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin I tried the rosewill factory webgui to flash, but both failed with the following error: Error...
