Re: Archer C7 v2 and occasional blackouts

Yes I have.

As said, hard-rebooting the router solves the problem. So you think it is okay go go for C7 v5?

hardware failure?

We know the firmware is stable
Ok.

I have been very satisfied with this router, though. Should I expect some regression with C7 v5 model (with Gargoyle) if I will purchase it? This model can be still found in stores.

Archer C7 v2 and occasional blackouts

Hi, Using Gargoyle 1.12 right now. I have faced some occasional blackouts of the router, resulting no connection either with lan or wifi. Some time ago, I set the gargoyle to reboot every morning at 4 am, but this morning (at 8.30 am) I still faced the problem. I’d say this was third or fourth time ...

Re: Archer C7 v2 and 5GHz Transmit Power

Finally got response to the bug I reported: So everything is actually OK. ____ Transmit power control (TPC) is required in this band, see [1]. Since Linux does not implement TPC, the maximum EIRP must be reduced by 3 dBm, so the value in the database is correct. https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-conte...

Re: Archer C7 v2 and 5GHz Transmit Power

The location selection is made only once, after the default configuration. However, the selection is based on known information (mtd partition, u-boot environment, WiFi card environment) - but it is not entirely objective. If you are from Finland, I recommend manually changing the location to FI: u...

Re: Archer C7 v2 and 5GHz Transmit Power

The commands are correct, but in my opinion, this will not help you (I recommend restarting the router for the changes to take effect). :!: I still warn, do not violate the established standards and performance for your location! Gargoyle is a community that follows established standards and laws. ...

Re: Archer C7 v2 and 5GHz Transmit Power

In my opinion, 27dbm maximum PCI-E performance will be 5GHz card. Already in OpenWrt Chaos Calmer rc3 this performance was recorded (https://dev.archive.openwrt.org/ticket/20063.html#comment:3). Archer C7 V3.0 also only max 27dbm: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32531836861.html If I recall, someti...

Re: Archer C7 v2 and 5GHz Transmit Power

Based on ETSI, it's 30 dBm on higher channels.
