Re: fq_codel

I was reading recently that Cake is somewhat of a successor or improvement to FQ_codel, and that it uses less resources. Is that something that could be compatible or a benefit to Gargoyle in the future? https://www.bufferbloat.net/projects/codel/wiki/Cake/ https://www.bufferbloat.net/projects/codel...

Re: Remove Gargoyle N150R

I was never able to get Gargoyle running on those routers. However, you could install OpenWRT - that's what I flashed on them.

Re: Better WiFi settings

Yes it would use a similar method of harvesting the data and then do a weighted score to figure out which channel is best. Channel 1 with weaker signals. But, your 2.4 is full as. Move to 5ghz and I think you'll see a massive improvement. Thanks! I should be getting a WD My Net N750 this Friday so ...

Re: Better WiFi settings

Would the spectrum analyzer plugin make it easier to write such code? How would I know which channel is best for my situation? Channel 1 because it has weaker networks (but a ton of them) or channel 11 because it has fewer networks (but a stronger one)? https://i.imgur.com/ZWDbSLz.png But I agree th...

Re: Version 1.9.1

can i use version 1.9.0 instead of 1.9.1 on my tp-link tl-wr1043nd v2.1? it is more stable edition? someone try to flash on it's router and see if it works correctly without any issues? i don't want to get into troubles. 1.9.1 should be much more stable because 1.9 was the first release on OpenWRT ...

Re: Version 1.9.1

Browsing feels a lot snappier on my router with 1.9.1. It's like the pages load instantly.

Re: Qos: difference from streaming and download

Hello, i am trying to configurate qos to assigne two classes for streaming and download on port 443. I am noticing that both using port 443 so i can't using port. Is there something to use for this? As you've noticed, due to the popularity of https/encryption it's really hard to distinguish between...

Re: Is QoS not meant to work perfectly?

I'm also going to blame your Internet bandwidth. Streaming at high, Gargoyle on my connection shows usage of 1600 to 2400kbps, despite the video stats showing a constant 1400-1500kbps. It's very dynamic with lots of spikes, I think depending on the amount of action in the video. At source it was ar...

Re: Is QoS not meant to work perfectly?

http://imgur.com/lXpWOpp You can see here, despite twitch having a 1800kbps min BW requirement it doesn't seem to work well. Ive also tried giving twitch 90 percent BW but it seems like something is just overriding these settings. The IP bandwidth sharing, im thinking. Per IP bandwidth sharing woul...

Re: Is QoS not meant to work perfectly?

Have you guys tried adding a class to prioritize packets under 512 bytes in size to reduce ping/bufferbloat? See imgur link in my signature below. Ah yes i have that rule in my setup. Doesn't seem to help much in keeping pings low though. I tried putting it at the top of the list and at bottom but ...
