Re: Gargoyle USB UPS daemon

Thanks,

I'll give it a shot. What's the worst that can happen?

I destroy my out of warranty $60 router by issuing a retarded write command to destroy everything?

In a nutshell, I'd like to have my router plugged into my USB APC UPS and have Gargoyle send shutdown commands to my NAS units when extended power goes out. All my NAS units are Linux based and I've gained root access to them. Be nice to send remote shutdown commands to running PCs as well but I run...

Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!

I successfully flashed a Tp-link wdr4300v1 with 1.8 with no issues. Change my subnet, reboot, login, configure. My 2nd 4300 was a bit tougher. It had been flashed a few times with other firmwares. Re: Did I set QOS properly?

I was in a meeting and couldn't monitor the router.

After looking at everything for the last 4 hours it appears I have contained Ryan with his torrenting activity.

Thanks for the reply and this topic can now die.

Gargoyle is great

Did I set QOS properly?

Here's what I did. I activated both QOS up and down and used 85% of my bandwith for the values asked for. Then I created a bandwidth class called Ryan with allowed speed limits of 0-1024 kbps. It shows up in the QOS Download service classes. THen I used the tools to assign Ryan's mac to a static IP ...
